The flames were two feet high, when I walked into the kitchen and saw a burning pot of vegetable oil that had boiled over, spilling onto the electric burner and catching fire. Mistake number two. In a panic I grabbed the hot pot handle, causing boiling hot, flaming oil to slosh all over my hand.

It wasn't long before the whole back of my hand started to turn a grayish pink color and the skin was starting to crinkle, the stinging, began to turn into real pain, it started to seriously hurt.
